PESTILENT: The Synopsis

As of now, I am still searching for traditional publishers—yes, you can have multiple publishers if your book is exceptional. On the other hand, my ambitions extend beyond just publishing; I also envision it being adapted into a movie. As I mentioned before, this process may take weeks to several months, filled with thousands of Query Letter rejections that can cause paranoia. Sometimes, it feels like my castaway homie is spoofing my emails just to mess with my mind while I search for publishers that align with the type of manuscript they’re looking for.

In the meantime, I’m taking a break from writing and mostly blogging on Facebook and my blogging websites. The rest of my time is spent working out at the gym, enjoying foodies, and returning to my humble music studio to remake some of my older self-published musical albums, as well as create new material. Perhaps, sign a record label for more music streams. You can visit my SoundCloud to listen to my tracks.

Synopsis: The story begins with a prologue set in a medieval world where a knight battles zombies to rescue a princess. As the narrative unfolds, it is revealed that this tale is actually a novella edited by Madilyn, one of the opening characters, inspired by the film White Zombie. The character Doctor Murder, based on Murder Legendre from White Zombie, also features in the PESTILENT manuscript.

The narrative showcases a diverse cast of characters from various walks of life, including a hacker in trouble with the cartel who seeks refuge in the enchanting town of Stellarville. He finds shelter with a local named Eugene, who rents him a room and works as a web developer for a Spanish/English church.

For the opening characters, I maintained the medieval theme, as Madilyn and her husband, Norman, are fans of Renaissance fairs, castles, princesses, queens, knights, and so on. Eventually, these medieval fantasies became effective in an apocalyptic environment.

Stellarville became the chosen underground location to experiment with creating a giant specimen called Pestilent, designed to spread a zombie virus originating from an alien source discovered by Muller, aka Doctor Murder, in Haiti. He sold it to a general planning to eradicate a population without using destructive powers, such as nuclear weapons, to avoid causing ruins. The general was more interested in the land's profitable development, including historical monuments. However, the project malfunctioned, and the zombie virus spread in Stellarville. Now, these diverse characters must band together to escape before the president obliterates Stellarville by the deadline, all while navigating drama, action, and humor.

From the first zombie film, White Zombie, where I got inspired of the names Doctor Murder and Madilyn for my manuscript PESTILENT: A Zombie Apocalypse Novel.

Description: PESTILENT” follows Doctor Hans Muller, infamously known as Doctor Murder, who, in his obsessive pursuit of reanimating the dead, creates a formula that instead transforms the deceased into monstrous entities. As his sanity unravels, Muller sells the formula to an eccentric general with sinister plans to use it to subjugate his people. To ensure the success of this deadly project, they relocate to the remote town of Stellarville, where the virus takes on a life of its own, leading to catastrophic consequences. Through its unique blend of apocalyptic horror and satirical drama, “PESTILENT” explores the unintended consequences of unchecked ambition and the thin line between genius and madness.
