ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Vincent Casil is a security guard with a deep passion for storytelling. Driven by a desire to grow as an author, he made the decision to dedicate more time to his craft. Born in the Philippines, Vincent speaks fluent Ilocano, Tagalog, and the more colorful phrases of Pangasinan. He currently resides in San Jose, California.


Vincent's creative journey began with visual arts and music production, but his love for movies gradually led him to writing books. He was inspired by famous authors whose novels were adapted into films. His early forays into blogging eventually blossomed into a full-fledged commitment to novel writing. In 2022, Vincent self-published his debut novel, Carbon Planet: Our Destiny in the Stars, a bold entry into science fiction. This was followed in 2023 by SWARM: The Pentalogy, a single-volume collection of his five-part novella series.


Vincent’s work defies easy categorization, as he enjoys blending genres and pushing creative boundaries. His stories explore science fiction, postmodernism, apocalyptic and dystopian worlds, as well as elements of magical realism, drama, and humor.

OUTSIDE - A Zombie Film

  I was quite impressed with this zombie film when I came across it on Netflix, especially since it's a film from the Philippines featuring my favorite actor, Sid Lucero. I remember he was chosen by Lav Diaz, my favorite Filipino director, to play a psychopathic character in Norte, the End of History , a film based on my hometown in the Philippines. The story is very unique, with some memorable scenes, strong drama, dark humor, and a few disturbing sequences I’ll never forget. And here he is again, the same actor I recognize as an excellent psychopath, delivering an outstanding performance in this zombie apocalypse film, Outside , directed and written by Carlo Ledesma.
